"More is more!" "I've go to burn x amount of calories in order to cheat tonight" "My trainer said so" "I have to go to the gym"

Sound familiar ? All I am asking is;

1. Who the fuck told you that you must workout 2-3 times a day in order to achieve your goals?

2. Why the fuck are you bragging about your nearly completed, double cardio sessions and weightlifting session?

3. Are you trying to kill your metabolism, hormones, and central nervous system?

4. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING ?

NO.

NO.

NO. Seriously, how dare the "fitspos" and "trainers" preach this kind of nonsense? You do NOT need to do 2 cardio sessions and 1 weightlifting session, per day, in order to get results. in fact, you'll likely completely hinder, postpone or essentially prevent and reverse any of your progression.

Why ?

3 WORKOUT SESSIONS A DAY? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

"For what!?" ... you may ask.

TO GET A PLASTIC TROPHY!!

THATS WHAT. AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS? FUCKING STUPID.

Dear bikini competitors! I've been there, I've done prep after prep. I've done fucking grueling 16+ week preps AND back-to-back shows. You DO NOT. I repeat, DO FUCKING NOT need to do 2 cardio sessions a day as well as a full workout. Let's spruce things up and add in a calorie - deficit as well, shall we?

NO. NO. NO.

More is not necessarily better!!

The body needs rest to recover, it needs to manage stress, hormones, gut health, activity, fatigue and exhaustion effectively! How can your body recover if you are constantly in a state of stress!? (working out, doing cardio, regular emotional stress, work/career, child care, etc).

I've been there, k?

Trust me, hours and hours of cardio (up to 2 hours/day), weights, posing practice, working (as a server), outdoor activities etc etc etc, thats all SEVERELY damaging to your body.

You want to know what 3 training sessions MAY get you.

•a trophy

•possible admiration (until they realize that what you've done is super damaging)

•possible weight loss (followed by a plateau and/or rebound of your original weight or more)

You want to know what you bet your ass 3 training sessions/overtraining and dieting WILL get you?

SOME OR MAYBE EVEN ALL OF THE PROBLEMS I (and many others) HAVE EXPERIENCED:

•hormonal imbalances

•metabolic issues

•loss is menstrual cycle

•fatigue and exhaustion

•lack of social encounters

•slavery to the gym

•potential eating disorders

•fear that skipping workouts = weight gain

•gut imbalances

•dangerously elevated cortisol levels

•mental imbalances

•potential depression, de-socialization, anxiety, irritability, moodiness and rage

•potential brain fog and memory loss issues

•body dysmorphia

•potential weight gain / rebound AND A FUCK TON OF OTHER CONCERNS.

🛑

DON'T BE A SLAVE TO THE GYM.

DON'T BE A SLAVE TO A COMPETITION.

Be the captain of your life; better yet, be the boss of your body!

You have a choice.

To live in slavery for a desired "look", or to live in awe for a "lifestyle".

Make choices that better your health!

YOU HAVE A CHOICE.

I CHOOSE to workout to increase endorphins and because I enjoy it!

I love lifting heavy, doing plyometrics, hiking, swimming, and jumping. I love feeling my body move, and breathing with ease. I love that I can walk around and explore new places for hours, without feeling tremendous pain or exhaustion.

Fitness should be for fucking overall health. For your heart, muscles, mind, body, soul, spirit and brain!

If you don't treat your body with respect, how can you expect it to respect you?

Fix your friendship with your body.

Be nice to it, it will be nice to you. Be an asshole to it, it will be an asshole right back to you.

Stay strong by recognizing when less is more.

xo,

dee
